NORWELL — Board of Appeals discusses bylaw review committee for state zoning amendments. Chair Lois S. Barbour noted the previous bylaw review committee (2015-2019) led to recodification accepted at the 2015 Annual Town Meeting.

Member Stephen J. Brake emphasized the significance of the variance changes, particularly the new Section 6 Finding, which increases the building commissioner's responsibilities. Select Board and Planning Board Chair Brian Greenberg called the amendments an "earthquake in 40A" and endorsed a thorough review as timely given the current Government Study Committee.

Members Brake and Barbour will draft a mission statement and submit it to Town Administrator Chad Lovett.
