The Town Clerk's Office will be closed on August 6, 2026, town officials announced, while residents interested in serving on the Advisory Board have just days left to apply for open seats.

TOWN HALL

The Town Clerk's Office will be closed on August 6, 2026, according to a News Flash update posted to the town website. No additional detail on the reason for the closure was provided in the posting.

Norwell continues to accept applications for vacancies on the Advisory Board, with an application deadline of July 31. The vacancy notice, first posted in May, remains open as the deadline approaches this week. Residents interested in municipal budget oversight and town finance matters are encouraged to apply through the Town Administrator's office.

The town also flagged ongoing Tier 4 water restrictions, first declared in June, which remain in effect. Officials have not indicated a timeline for easing the restrictions.

COMMUNITY & ARTS

The Norwell Public Library has launched a new Device Lending Program, making four Dell Pro 14 laptops available for in-library use and seven Dell Latitude touch-screen laptops available for take-home checkout. The library's July newsletter is also available on its website, with further detail on programming and the recently announced state technology grant. Library officials noted that seasonal Sunday hours will not return this year due to budget cuts affecting the library's FY26 operations.
