Norwell Select Board names Town Administrator, approves civil service policy. The board unanimously appointed Chad Lovett to the School Building Committee as new Town Administrator, replacing Darleen Sullivan. In a unanimous vote, the board approved a hybrid civil service hiring policy for Police Department entry-level positions, allowing hires from the civil service list and experienced officers from other departments.
The department had voted three years ago to exit civil service. The board also discussed police vehicle leasing, estimated at $500,000 annually against 2 to 3 million dollars for capital purchase, with no action taken.
