Norwell Select Board responds to water contamination in town center. Town Administrator Chad Lovett coordinated an immediate response after e-coli bacteria was detected at one of 27 test points at the Central Fire Station spigot, issuing a mandatory boil-water advisory to residents and ordering restaurants to boil water, provide bottled water, or close. Testing on all 27 points will continue Thursday and Friday, with results expected Friday morning.
In other business, the Select Board appointed Brian Noble as an At Large member and Anne Trubia as an Alternate to the Cemetery Committee, both for terms expiring June 30, 2029, and unanimously approved a letter of support for a Complete Streets grant application for sidewalk improvements in Town Center, with a funding cap of $1 million and an application deadline of August 7.
